About Manja

I graduated from the Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa with a Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture (Lic.Ac). This qualification is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with Honours and is accredited by BAAB (British Acupuncture Accreditation Board). My training covered Chinese medical theory, anatomy, diagnostic skills, biomedical research and clinical supervised practice.

My path to retraining as an acupuncturist in my mid 40s weaves together personal experiences and values. I grew up in Berlin, where complementary medicine is widely accepted alongside conventional healthcare. With a natural understanding of an integrative approach to healthcare, I first discovered acupuncture as a young competitive swimmer dealing with persistent neck/shoulder pain and skin conditions. My early experiences of acupuncture made a lasting impression on me and sparked a deep curiosity about this ancient approach to medicine and the body's natural capacity to heal.

Before becoming an acupuncturist, I studied Cultural Studies (BA Hons) and Social Research (MA) and worked or volunteered in advocacy services, hospitals and residential care homes. These experiences shaped the way I work in clinic today-bringing compassion and integrity to careful attention of complex concerns with a deep respect for each person's individual needs. As a fully qualified and accredited practitioner, I'm committed to refining and enhancing my skills through ongoing professional development, ensuring the care I provide remains of the highest standard. I am also dedicated to continually striving for inclusive and accessible acupuncture care.
